Paro Taktsang

Tiger's Nest

Clinging impossibly to a 3,120m granite cliff above the Paro valley, Taktsang Palphug Monastery is the single most recognised image in Bhutan. Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown here on the back of a tigress to meditate in the cave that now lies at the monastery's heart. The two-hour hike up rewards with views that feel like the edge of the world.
